Rigging Instructions

The Bushing included with the bait is to be used to assist one with the replacement of the skirt. The bushing should be placed on the point of the hook, large end first, and pushed up to the back of the baits head. The skirt should then be inserted, small end first, and pushed up over the bushing and on to the collar. After installing the skirt, the bushing should be removed by sliding it off the hook. If bushing hangs on the hooks barb, rotate the bushing to remove. See illustrations below.

The picture below on the right has a 1/2 Rattle Head Jig and is rigged with a Paca Craw. When rigging a Rattle Head Bait make sure to leave some space 1/8-1/4 inch between the front of the trailer and the back of the chamber. This will allow the rattling hook to work the way it was designed. After fishing a while check the trailer often and make sure it has not pushed up against the back of the brass chamber. The picture on the left shows the back of the chamber and hook.

Tips From Rattle Head Baits PRO Staff

Pro Staff Tip.

To make a Spinnerbait or Buzz bait last longer, you can take a small piece of clear tubing and cut a 1/16 inch long and place it over the R bend. This will keep the R bend shape and the line in place. The tubing that come with Gamakatsu trailer hooks will work or other small tubing.
